Does your child have big ideas but feel nervous speaking up? Or loves to share but needs help in organizing their thoughts or listening to others?
This lively, award-winning debate class turns hesitation into confidence and makes public speaking something learners actually look forward to.
We have helped thousands of learners build strong communication, critical thinking, and argumentation skills, but we also make it FUN!
Each week, learners debate exciting, age-appropriate topics they will love, such as:
-
Do dogs make better pets than cats?
-
Would it be better to be invisible or able to fly?
-
Would you rather live on a submarine or a spaceship?
-
Are books better than movies?
Topics are shared in advance, so learners can come ready with ideas. They are welcome to do research ahead of time, but it is never required.
Class begins with a clear explanation of the debate topic and resolution. Then, each learner shares an opening statement, explaining their position and supporting it with reasons.
Next comes everyone’s favorite part: the Rebuttal Game! Learners listen carefully, think quickly, and respond to the other side’s arguments. It is an engaging, fast-paced way to practice critical thinking, respectful disagreement, and persuasive speaking.
With our small class sizes, every learner has plenty of opportunities to participate, speak, and grow in confidence during every class.
