Debate/Communications/Critical Thinking/Writing/Reading
I'm a virtual communications teacher focusing on debate and logic classes for kids and teens. I have 8 years of experience in high school and collegiate Speech & Debate, including competing in NFA tournaments as President of Marshall University's Speech & Debate Team (2018-2020). My bread and butter are debate and logic classes, but as a former librarian and proud literature nerd, I also enjoy teaching introductory writing and reading classes to my students! I used to be a "shy kid", so my favorite part about teaching communication classes is having the opportunity to increase confidence for students and give them a voice.
I love reading fantasy and sci-fi novels, watching horror films, playing video games, trying (sometimes failing) to cook new recipes, and hanging out with my husband and goldendoodle, Moxie! My hope is that anyone who takes my classes walks away feeling ready to use their critical thinking skills to assess the world and issues around them, and that they have some fun while learning!
